Dual Screen YotaPhone 2
If you live in Europe and you want to have a double-screened smartphone, this is your lucky day. The new dual screen YotaPhone 2 was just released in countries all over Europe. The new smartphone was manufactured by Russian company Yota Devices and it has been advertised as being a two-faced smartphone with up to 100 hours of reading time (if used on the e-ink side of the phone) and features a library full of Android-compatible apps. All these features do not come at a very low price, mind you.

People from 20 European countries can now order the dual screen YotaPhone 2 for approximately $600.
Like the previous Yota smartphone, the dual screen YotaPhone 2 comes with an LCD display on its front side and a 4.7 inch special e-ink screen on the back side. The great thing about the back e-ink display is that it’s always on. That’s right, unlike the front screen which goes into stand by mode, just like any other smartphones, the dual screen YotaPhone 2 ‘s back display stays on at all times.

The user can receive and check the important notifications without turning the phone on, thus saving lots and lots of battery life. That’s one of the great benefits of having a dual screen phone. We all know that our phones are not for talking but for checking our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram notifications, right? And we also know that most of the battery dies out because of we always check these notifications.

With the dual screen YotaPhone 2 we are saved. At least our phone’s battery is. Apparently, we can spend up to 100 hours reading, social media interacting, blogging and RSS feeding, as long as we stick to the e-ink backside. Because this is the battery-friendly side of the dual screen YotaPhone 2 smartphone.

The Russian smartphone has a 2,500 mAh battery that can last up to five days on the e-ink side and two days on the normal side. The phone will automatically switch to YotaEnergy mode, which will save you some battery life.

Yota Devices CEO, Vlad Martynov said of the new dual screen YotaPhone 2:

“YotaPhone isn’t just a new phone, it’s a new way for people to communicate and use information. We are a startup company that had a big idea and we’ve executed on that idea.”
